Barn Owners: Jim and Barbara Zook
Quilt Square: "Mother's Choice"
Sponsors: The Zook Family

The barn displaying the quilt was built in 1973 replacing an old corncrib. This modern barn has metal siding and roof. It is used to house farm machinery and a machine shop. The bank barn on the property was built in the late 1800's. It was built with hand-hewed beams with wooden pegs. It housed horses in the early years and has since housed hogs and 4-H steer projects. It currently is used for machinery storage. This farm has been in Barbara's family of Pences for four generations. The Zooks moved to the farm in 1960 and purchased it in 1967 from Barbara's aunt, Lucille Pence.
The quilt square is called "Mother's Choice". The three basic colors in the quilt represent their three children and the nine green areas represent their nine grandchildren. The green and yellow represent Jim's favorite equipment, John Deere.
